多模态视域下开放大学公共英语OPEN模式的构建

摘要：
在数字化时代，开放大学的教学模式改革是提升教育教学质量，探索网络教育规律，满足成人学生需求的主要抓手，具有必要性与紧迫性。从2018年初至2019年底，在开放大学公共英语课程已经从通用英语（EGP）向专门用途英语（ESP）转型的基础上，国家开放大学选取13家分部及分校，分两批进行了公共英语多模态教学改革。从调研中发现，教师和学生在对待英语学习态度和方法上，认知有较大差异。项目实施时，在多模态教学理论的基础上，试点学校英语教学重心开始向以听说为主的口语训练转移，在教学方法上强调多元交互与实践，在教学设计上重视发挥形成性考核的作用，在教学组织上聚焦教师团队和学生小组的作用，取得了较好的成果，初步构建了OPEN模式。但是，在实践研究中积累的案例还需做进一步梳理，以期形成可复制、可借鉴、可推广的开放大学教学新模式。
The Construction of OPEN Mode of College English in Open Universities from the Perspective of Multimodality Theory

Abstract:
In the digital age, it is necessary and urgent to reform the teaching mode of Open University to improve the education quality, explore the methods of online education and meet the needs of adult students. From the beginning of 2018 to the end of 2019, on the basis of the transformation of the course of English for general purpose (EGP) to English for special purpose (ESP), 13 TVRUs and its branches were selected by the OUC to carry out the multimodal teaching and learning reform of college English in two groups successively. From the survey, it is found that teachers and students have great differences in their attitudes and methods towards English teaching and learning. During the implementation of the project, on the basis of multimodal teaching theory, the focus of English Teaching in the pilot schools began to shift to oral English training, multiple interaction and practice, emphasizing the role of formative assessment in teaching design, focusing on the network of teachers' team and students' group. The pilot project has achieved good results, and initially formed the OPEN mode. However, the cases accumulated in the practical research need to be further sorted out in order to establish a new teaching mode, which can be copied, used for reference and popularized for other courses by all open universities.
