摘要:
在天津城市由传统向近代转型的过程中,轮船、铁路、公路等近代交通方式发挥了重要作用。自1921年兴起后,天津的长途汽车商业运输从无到有,从小到大,不断发展。但由于自身具有载重量较小、运费较高等不足,加之铁路与内河民船的激烈竞争及战乱等因素的影响, 1921—1937年的天津长途汽车商业运输仍处于初兴阶段。其在近代天津城市转型中的作用亦隐没不彰。

The Rise of Long-distance Bus Commercial Transportation in Tianjin (1921—1937)

Abstract:
In the process of transforming from traditional to modern city, modern transportation modes in Tianjin such as ships, railways and highways have played an important role. Since its rise in 1921, Tianjin's long-distance bus commercial transportation had been developing continuously from small to large. However, due to the small carrying capacity, high freight cost, constant wars and fierce competition with railways and inland river ships, Tianjin long-distance bus commercial transportation was still in its infancy from 1921 to 1927. As a result, its role in the urban transformation of modern Tianjin was also not obvious.
